BetHog announced the closure of its crypto casino on July 20, 2026, to concentrate resources on Sentient Studios. The decision allows co-founders Nigel Eccles and Rob Jones to prioritize their B2B AI live dealer technology.
Players have until July 31 to withdraw their funds. The engineering team previously responsible for BetHog has already shifted focus to Sentient Studios, integrating the underlying technology into the new entity.
Focus on AI Technology
Sentient Studios launched in April as a standalone entity following the initial integration of AI-driven games into the casino. The studio currently holds the market position as the only company with an operational AI dealer product, named Sunny.
Eccles reported that testing over the past six months showed the AI dealer is ten times more popular than traditional live dealer equivalents. The company also noted improved player retention and satisfaction metrics. A $10m Series A financing round will support further investment in the technology.
Tier-one operators have expressed interest in licensing the AI dealer. Several partners are expected to launch the service later this year, allowing them to scale dealer experiences instantly.
Eccles and Jones previously co-founded FanDuel before establishing the crypto casino platform.
